Thank you for your interest in submitting your manuscript to the Word Project Press. At this time, the Press plans to print no more than two books per year. In 2015 we will be reading unsolicited manuscripts for publication in 2016.
Initially, please submit a query letter within an email. Please make sure it contains contact information, relevant biographical information, a brief description of the manuscript including length, genre, title, and a short synopsis, and relevant previous publication history. We will respond to your e-query and request submission of the manuscript if we wish to publish your work.
We only accept online submissions to allow us to spend more time reading and less time logging, filing, and handling paper submissions. Electronic submissions are author-friendly, since they don’t require the printing and mailing costs typically incurred when submitting via regular mail, and eco-friendly in reducing paper consumption.
If requested to submit, please upload your finished, book-length manuscript as an MS Word document (either .doc or .docx), and include a cover letter as the first page of your file. All prose manuscripts should be double-spaced, and all poetry manuscripts should be single-spaced, with all headers, footers and page numbers removed. All manuscripts, regardless of genre, should be submitted in a twelve-point font.
Also please note that we do not publish stand-alone poems or stories. We prefer to consider only one manuscript from a given author so please do not submit multiple manuscripts. We will acknowledge receipt of your manuscript.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse any submission or publish any works containing in our judgment; pornographic material, racist or sexist opinions, or material deemed hateful or injurious toward various cultures, groups, religions or persons. Further, it is our policy to screen submissions that are to carry our ISBN and imprint for basic quality standards.
